Meet Dr. Colorado
Resource Specialist
[email protected]
Dr. Karla Colorado grew up in Long Beach until she moved to Westwood to attend UCLA. It was there that she found her passion for education. After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in History at UCLA, Dr. Colorado pursued her passion and attended Loyola Marymount University, receiving a Master’s Degree in Child and Adolescent Literacy. Her love of education and literacy inspired her to then earn a Doctorate of Education, with a specialization in Literacy from USC. Although she went to both USC and UCLA, she will always be a Bruin at heart!
Dr. Colorado has been teaching in Catholic schools for 18 years, including third grade, junior high, and kindergarten. She also spent several years teaching literacy courses in the Education Masters programs and directing the Literacy Lab at LMU. Her true love has always been literacy and is looking forward to working with students to help improve their literacy and learning needs. When she is not teaching, Dr. Colorado loves to read, go to the beach, bake, and spend time with her family.
