Meet Fr. Forsen
Pastor
Monsignor Forsen is a native of Mission Hills, CA. He graduated from St. John’s Seminary and was ordained a priest in 1979. He served as an associate pastor at St. Joan of Arc in West LA and then at St. Mark Church in Venice and Our Lady of Lourdes in East Los Angeles. From 1990 to 2002 he served as Pastor of St. John the Baptist in Baldwin Park, one of the largest churches in the Archdiocese at the time.
Msgr. Forsen was then called upon by the Archdiocese to serve as Director of Vocations beginning in 2002, a post he held for over 10 years. While serving as Vocations Director, Msgr. Forsen was in residence at St. Columbkille in the inner city where he continued to participate in the fullness of parish life serving in one of the city’s more impoverished churches.
In 2014 Msgr. Forsen returned to the westside of Los Angeles, and became Pastor of Visitation Church.
Msgr. Forsen is fluent in Spanish, has run a couple of marathons, and has a wicked sense of humor. He loves the pastoral role of parish priest, and is grateful for the warm welcome he has received at Visitation.
