Grants, Awards, and Recognition for Visitation School...

 

PLAYA VISTA EDUCATIONAL TRUST PROGRAM
As a Playa Vista adopted school, Visitation is annually awarded $2,000. in total savings bonds scholarships for selected 8th grade students at graduation. In addition, Playa Vista offers the Ballona Wetlands curriculum and field trip, as well as the "Music Center on Tour" program of live performance artists.

VISITATION SCHOOL RECEIVED $75,000 GRANT FROM FRITZ BURNS FOUNDATION...
Our school has received a $75,000 grant from the Fritz B. Burns Foundation in response to the proposal submitted by Mrs. Wechsler for our Learning Center. This will allow us to purchase needed educational materials, update the center and invite student interns from Loyola Marymount University to work with our students. We look forward to the further growth of our new Learning Center for all students!

CONGRATULATIONS PARENTS AND OFFICE OF DEVELOPMENT....
PTO Magazine
, the only national magazine for school parent groups has awarded our school with an HONORABLE MENTION for Parent Group of the Year. The magazine focuses on resources for building school community, increasing volunteer participation, fundraising and community events, and creating a welcoming environment for the children and parents.

PRINCIPAL WINS LOYOLA MARYMOUNT UNIVERSITY'S 2004 SOCIAL ENTREPRENEUR AWARD...
Visitation School's principal Dr. Carol Ann Crede received Loyola Marymount University's 2004 Social Entrepreneur Award. Dr. Fred Kiesner, Chair of LMU's Entrepreneurship Program,
presented the award to Dr. Crede on Monday, April 26, 2004 at a celebration dinner in her honor. Dr. Crede immediately announced that her award donation of $2,000. would be given to the Leoni family's FIGHT FOR JESSICA ORGANIZATION for research on Niemann-Pick Type C Disease.
