Meet Ms. Pflug

Marisa Pflug (Ms. P) was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and grew up in Whittier, California. Having attended St. Paul of the Cross and St. Paul High School, Ms. P is a product of the Los Angeles Archdiocese school system. Ms. P attended Cal Poly Pomona where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English. While attending Cal Poly she volunteered for the domestic peace corps, AmeriCorps, for two years. After graduation, Ms. Pflug continued her education at Cal State Long Beach and earned her Master of Arts in English. She began her teaching career in Long Beach, for the Long Beach Unified School District. This will be her first-year teaching fifth grade.
When Ms. P is not teaching, she enjoys walking with her dog, Eloise, reading, traveling, cheering for the Saints, and spending time with her family. Ms. P hopes to make her students avid readers and strong writers. She knows that fifth grade is a transition year and wants to be supportive in her student’s journeys into junior high. She is looking forward to making fifth grade a truly memorable and enjoyable experience for your child.
