Miss Wilcox originally grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in Film from Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kansas. In 2012, she moved to Los Angeles where she began working for an education company called PlanetBravo in their technology/entertainment camps. After one year there, PlanetBravo offered her a year-round teaching position in two of their schools. When Miss Wilcox isn't at Visitation, she is making the commute to Point Dume Elementary in Malibu.
Teaching runs in Miss Wilcox's family, with her mother working as a first grade teacher in Nebraska, and her sister teaching English Language Learners and Social Studies in Morocco. Miss Wilcox has always enjoyed working with children and loves watching children's tech skills grow. She remembers her first computer classes and the games and programs that captured her interests, such as Where in Europe is Carmen Sandiego or creating banners in Print Shop Deluxe. Miss Wilcox plans to pass on this same excitement to the students at Visitation. Her favorite part of teaching is working with every grade and the varying experiences one finds when teaching 7th graders and then Kindergarten immediately after.
