Meet Ms. Michelle Shelton

Counselor

Ms. Shelton is excited to be part of the Visitation community and to get to know its students and families. She has been a school counselor for six years, with experience in private, public, and Catholic school settings. She has worked with students from TK–12, with a primary focus on TK–8. She is passionate about creating safe, inclusive, and supportive environments where students feel valued, understood, and comfortable being themselves. She takes a proactive and collaborative approach to counseling, supporting students through individual interventions and small groups while recognizing and honoring their unique cultural, emotional, and developmental needs.

She lives in El Segundo with her family, including her eighth-grade daughter, two dogs, and a guinea pig. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, reading, creating art, and cooking. She has always loved animals and appreciates the simple moments that bring people together. Michelle looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students and families and supporting Visitation students as they learn, grow, and discover their strengths.
