Student Activities
Besides our athletic teams and clubs, the school offers a wide range of student activities, led by both students and faculty.
CJSF
Visitation is a member of the California Junior Scholastic Federation. CJSF is a statewide honor society that promotes high standards of scholarship, service and citizenship in to students in grades seven and eight. There are several academic benefits for students who join CJSF. For example, CJSF Honor Members receive special recognition at graduation, and a stamp on his/her permanent school record card. This means that when transcripts are sent to high schools, honorary status is recognized.
CJSF members continue to support Visitation through their After-School Peer Tutoring Program. CJSF students work one-on-one with students who are struggling in their academics. The response from this program has been tremendous. Students, teachers, and parents are recognizing and benefitting from the positive results of peer tutoring.
Student Council
The student government contributes to the school and parish community while developing students' sense of responsibility and preparing them for leadership roles in a democratic process and in a Christian community.
The Student Council holds school elections, installs its members, and sponsors various activities and events each year that involve and benefit the entire student body. A faculty member acts as an advisor to the Student Council. Students must be moving into grades 6-8 in order to run for Student Council.
These are some of the events that Student Council sponsors:
- Holiday Festivities
- Junior Olympics
- Service Projects, such as the Thanksgiving Food Drive
- Appreciation Days
Tech Crew
Tech Crew is a group of students responsible for the technical aspects of any of our productions, including Morning Assembly each morning, School Assemblies, and Holiday Programs.
