Joseph Warnstedt is thrilled to be here at Visitation School. He looks forward to meeting the students and parents in this coming school year and is excited for what is to come as well. Mr. Warnstedt is no stranger to the Catholic School community. He attended St. Lawrence Martyr School in Redondo Beach from Kindergarten through Eighth grade. Then continued his education at St. John Bosco High School, followed by graduating in 2014 with a BA in History from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. He furthered his education at USC achieving an MAT and single subject teaching credential.
As well as being a part of Catholic School communities as a student, Mr. Warnstedt has also spent a fair amount of time as an educator. While in high school, he was a counselor at St. Lawrence Martyr’s Vacation Bible school summer camp. During summer breaks from Xavier, he was a summer camp counselor and summer school substitute teacher at St. Lawrence Martyr. After graduating from Xavier, he was hired at St. Lawrence Martyr as an afterschool daycare counselor and interned as a PE teacher. He then was given the opportunity at St. John Fisher to teach Kindergarten through Eighth grade PE and to be the Athletic director, during which he was also a long-term substitute teacher for middle school social studies. He became a certified Catechist and Eucharistic minister. This past year however, he worked at Gardena High School teaching several periods of US History and AP World History. Through these experiences, Mr. Warnstedt has grown as an educator. Furthermore, he has acquired many stimulating, useful, and comprehensive strategies to make Social Studies and Religion exciting for our students. CLICK HERE to visit Mr. Warnstedt's webpage. |
