Family Testimonials
When we moved to Westchester in 2008, we were happy that there was a Catholic church and school so close to our new home. However, throughout the years Visitation has been so much more to our family than just the “nearby church” it has become part of our family. Each of our three children were baptized and received their first communion at Visitation. We are so proud to be part of the truly wonderful and welcoming Visitation community.
When the time came for our son, and later our daughters, to enter elementary school there was no question that they would be attending Visitation School. Whether it be Altar Service, Sports or Student Government, the extracurricular programs offered at Visitation have been a fantastic asset for our kids. The faculty and staff are dedicated to giving all students the tools to achieve success. It is that dedication to academic success, instilled at Visitation, that now has Dominic (8th grade graduation class of 2023) as an honors student in high school. We couldn’t be happier in the decision for our children to attend Visitation School and the high quality of education each have received. - Saienni Family
We always knew we wanted a Catholic education for our children. Being a two-mom family, we weren't always welcomed whole-heartedly by the schools we pursued. But when we showed up to tour Visitation, Mrs. Hughes calmed our fears immediately with her warm smile and welcoming disposition. Walking around the school, we saw that the kids were connected in ways we had not seen before. Kids of all backgrounds were playing together, they were attentive in class and looked out for one another. The middle schoolers going out of their way to assist the younger students on numerous occasions.
When we met with Principal Watson to discuss our application, he was excited to welcome us and addressed our family dynamic and put our minds at ease. Our hearts were full. We had the chance to meet Father Jim and all he wanted was to show our boys the faith God had in store for them. It didn't matter to him who their parents were. In the 5 years since then we have built lifelong friendships with fellow parents and parishioners, found best friends for our boys and godparents for our youngest. Visitation provided an open and welcoming community where our family is able to be ourselves and feel wanted and welcome. It has been such a blessing being part of this dynamic and diverse Visitation community. "All Are Welcome" - Tourney Family

Why We Love Visitation School
We are a proud Visitation School family. Our connection with Visitation School began several years ago, and it's safe to say that the impact this school has had on our family has been profound. Our eldest son graduated from Visitation School in 2019. He went on to attend Loyola High School, where he thrived both academically and personally. The solid foundation and values instilled in him during his time at Visitation School have undoubtedly contributed to his success. Our middle son graduated in 2023. The education and support he received at Visitation have been instrumental in preparing him for his journey ahead. We're confident that he will follow in his older brother's footsteps and excel at Loyola High School, thanks to the exceptional foundation from Viz. Our youngest son is currently a vibrant 3rd grader at Visitation School. The community has embraced him, providing a nurturing environment where he can grow and learn. We have witnessed his growth both academically and socially, and we're excited to see him continue to flourish as he progresses through the school. What truly sets Visitation School apart is the sense of community and the opportunity to get involved. We have had the privilege of making lifelong friends with other families at Visitation. The support and camaraderie we have experienced here have enriched our lives in countless ways. It's not just our children who have benefited; our entire family has been woven into the fabric of this wonderful community. The smaller class sizes, safe environment, and dedicated faculty have provided the older boys with a unique and highly effective educational experience. They have been able to thrive academically and personally, thanks to the personalized attention and the strong sense of community that Visitation School offers. Visitation School is not just a place of education; it's a nurturing community that has supported our sons in their academic journeys, personal growth, and the lasting friendships they have formed. We are incredibly grateful for the solid foundation that the school has provided. - Favorite Family
Our favorite thing about Visitation is that our family can be our genuine selves. We feel at home and at ease. At Visitation, we “found our fit”. A common stereotype we have experienced with faith-based education is that you have to be a certain way or conform to certain standards to be accepted. At VIZ, we’ve found that all are truly welcome and accepted. Our family has a mix of personalities, of learning styles, and approaches to faith. We’ve each found Visitation to be a place where we can lean into what makes us different and thrive.

As alumni and active members of the parish, my wife Crystal and I had no hesitation in choosing Visitation for our two children. The enduring friendships we cherish today have their roots in the very classrooms, playgrounds, and church where our children are now forming their own bonds. So happy to say that we made the best decision for our young boys. Visitation is not just a school; it's a close-knit community and a second family. We support one another through both the joys and challenges of life, and we embrace and welcome everyone with open arms.
Visitation is committed to diversity and inclusivity, welcoming the entire community, to participate in its events and fostering a sense of togetherness for everyone to enjoy as a unified whole. Go Bulldogs! - Casey and Crystal Baker '96
We selected Visitation School as our educational institution of choice primarily guided by the warm, welcoming ambiance that enveloped us during our initial visit. It's worth noting that we arrived as complete strangers, knowing not a single soul within those halls. However, the graciousness and hospitality shown to us by the office staff, as well as the friendly presence of both Fr. Jim and Mr. Watson, swiftly made us feel right at home.
Upon commencing our educational journey at Visitation, our confidence in our decision was affirmed with each passing day. The very diversity we had sought in a preschool was not only present but beautifully embodied within the school's student body and their parents. The enthusiasm among both the students and families in the Visitation community was nothing short of contagious, uplifting our spirits and leaving us feeling truly blessed. Our choice in selecting this school was unexpected, an unplanned alignment of circumstances that we are deeply grateful for. We consistently urge newcomers to swiftly engage with our community. Ours is an exceptionally hospitable environment, and the sooner you immerse yourselves in it, the deeper your sense of belonging and connection with the community will become. - Diiorio Family
We are the Morgan family. My son transitioned to Visitation in 3rd grade. And instantly he felt a genuine connection with several of his peers. He looked forward to going to class and hanging with his peers. As a parent, that is your hope that your child excels in academics and makes social connections. Visitation gave him that. I am grateful for how genuine and authentic the teachers, staff, parents, and the children are. We are so blessed to be a part of the Visitation school community.
